Paul
Netzel RI Director, 2007-2009 Chairman, Executive Committee, RI Board, 2008-09
Paul is Founder and Chairman of Netzel Grigsby Associates, Inc., a leading management and consulting firm specializing in work with not-for-profit organizations and institutions throughout the Western U.S. His company was honored by the Los Angeles Area Chamber for its "outstanding example of the entrepreneurial spirit of our region."
Paul's community service includes two terms as Mayor and city councilmember of Culver City, CA (1980-88). He was president of Culver City's Board of Education and has served in leadership positions on numerous local and national professional societies and not-for-profit boards including Goodwill Industries, the Boy Scouts, the YMCA, United Way and the Auto Club of So. California Advisory Board.
He and his wife, Diane, are members of the Rotary Club of Los Angeles. They reside in the L.A. neighborhood of Brentwood and enjoy traveling, reading, community service and family. Both are proud of their two grown children, Chip and Shari, daughter-in-law, Jill, and two grandchildren, Michael and Becca. All are Paul Harris Fellows.

Past District Governor
John T., Charter President of the Rotary Club of Morehead City-Noon, North
Carolina and has been there forever, at least since Paul. He even served again
for their Twenty-fifth Anniversary year but only three members could remember
that far back in history.
He is a great exponent of “Southern” friendship and hugging, which in some parts
of the world gets him in trouble. Exposes crazy causes, like being the Founder
of Bald Headed Men of America and promoting Bald Is Beautiful!
“We take ourselves to seriously,” says John T. “I like to participate and share
the international humanitarian programs of Rotary as they are and give us some
laughs in order not to weep. I’m not a great Rotarian; I just toil daily in the
cornfield of life, to bring a few laughs, a few tears of joy.”
For over 30 years he had the same vocation as Harry Ruggles, Paul’s fifth member
in 1905. Since being Charter President, John T. became a “Rotarian” when a RYLA
Delegate asked, “Will you teach me how to tie a tie?”.
Having participated in 32 Rotary International Conventions, 10 Polio National
Immunization Days numerous Multi-District PETS and Foundation Banquets he has
given out thousands of “Free Tickets” to compliment his popular booklets. They
are: “7 Habits of Highly In-Effective Rotarians”, “7 Ways to Get A New Member
and Increase Your Club Membership”, “GOALS…How To Be A Great Rotarian”, and “How
To Survive Your Year As President and Have Fun-Having the Best Year Your Rotary
Club Has Ever Had!” next will be a real book!
John T. is married to Jane. She is a Honorary Rotarian and Chairman of The
Salvation Army Morehead City Advisory Board. They are “Certified On Call
Volunteer Salvation Army Disaster Workers.” When he grows up, John T. says, “I
want to be a train engineer because I think I can, I think I can and YOU can
too!”

King, Past President Rotary International 2001-02
Richard D. King is a past world president of Rotary International, and
currently serves as the Executive Director of the Wheelchair Foundation. Mr.
King is also the senior partner in the California law firm King, King and King.
He earned undergraduate and law degrees from the University of California at
Berkeley where he is a member of the California Club and the Order of the Golden
Bear. He taught law at Brigham Young University. He is a distinguished military
graduate of the University of California and served as a captain in the U. S.
Military Intelligence. He received an Honorary Doctorate in Law from Hanyang
University, Seoul, Korea. A trial lawyer, Mr. King belongs to several legal
associations including the American Association of Trial Lawyers. He is admitted
to practice in both Utah and California and before the Supreme Court of the U.
S. He served on the board of directors of the Eden Hospital Foundation, the
Woodminster Performing Arts, and Oakland Ballet. He is a trustee of the City of
Hope and received the City of Hope “Spirit of Life” Award. He has been knighted
by the Republic of Italy and is a holder of the Great Official Order of Merit
and is a recipient of the State of Rio de Janeiro’s highest award, the “Medalha
Tiradentes”. He belongs to the Commonwealth Club and Actor’s Equity. He is an
elder and officer of the Mormon Church and an active fund-raiser for the Boy
Scouts of America. He holds the Chevalier Degree and Legion of Honor from the
Order of DeMolay. He is a recipient of the Distinguished Citizen Award from the
United Portuguese of California He has been honored by some 50 associations, by
the President of the U. S., and by many countries across the globe fro his
community and charitable service.
A Rotarian since 1968, he is a member of the Rotary Club of Niles-Fremont,
California, USA. He has served as a trustee of The Rotary Foundation, director
and as chairman of the executive committee of Rotary International’s board of
directors. He has also served Rotary as a club president, district governor, an
international assembly instructor and an official representative of the
president of R.I. He has chaired and served on many Rotary International
committees, task forces and special assignments. Mr. King has received the
Rotary Citation for Meritorious Service and the Distinguished Service Award for
his support of humanitarian and educational programs of the Rotary Foundation.
He is a recipient of the PolioPlus Pioneer Award.
One of Rotary’s most popular speakers, Mr. King has addressed Rotary International Conventions,
Assemblies, Institutes, Seminars, Conferences and Rotary Clubs in every state in
the USA and some 100 countries. As President, he led Rotary International to its
greatest one-year growth record in its 97 year history, with 75,000 new members
net, a global membership of 1,243,431 and 1,158 new Rotary clubs in 2001-2002.
In the same year Rotarians contributed the highest amount of money ever raised
for the Annual Fund of the Rotary Foundation.
Mr. King is married to Cherie Kay King. They have two grown sons and reside in
the Mission San Jose area of the San Francisco Bay Area, California.

Blount RI Director 2010-2011
John started in Rotary at age 27, was President of the Sebastopol Club at age
32, and was the youngest Governor of District 513 at age 40. He is today the
Rotary International Director Elect, selected by representatives from twelve
districts in the western United States to be a Director of Rotary International
for 2009 to 2011. He attended PETS as an incoming club president, in 1982.He was invited to teach at that Northern California-Nevada-Hawaii PETS in 1986 and continued as an instructor for nineteen years. He was Chairman of Instruction and Curriculum from 1995 to 1997. In 2003 he was selected the General Chair for Far West PETS. He has been a major influence on many of the innovations to the entire Far West PETS approach to training incoming club leaders.
John has a long history of training Rotary leaders. He was one of 36 Rotarians from around the world selected to train over 500 incoming District Governors as a Group Discussion Leader at both the 1993 and the 1994 International Assemblies. John has taught incoming District Governors at GETS for fourteen years since he was a Governor and was the “Zone Trainer” for 23 districts in 1996. He developed the curriculum presently used to train incoming Governors on the west coast of the United States and Canada. He has recently completed a four-year assignment as GETS Instruction Chair and a one-year term as Chair of Education for Rotary leaders in the western United States.
Dr. Blount has practiced dentistry in Sebastopol, California for the past thirty-one years after graduating from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 1975. While his vocation has been directed and consistent his avocation is varied. He left college with a bachelor’s degree in history. For five years he toured and recorded with a folk music group. Today he is a partner in a working group that produces motivational, historical, and informational videos, including several Rotary promotional presentations, a motivational film, “Its All About Leadership”; a video biography, “Presenting Cliff Dochterman”; and “Reflections of the Future”, a feature presentation illustrating the ongoing legacy of Rotary. He continues to partner in creative theatrical and multi-media presentations and is a frequent lecturer and speaker to Rotary and business associations around the country.
Dr. Blount is a thirty-two year member and past president of the Rotary Club of Sebastopol, California. He was Governor of District 513 and its 36 clubs in northwestern California in 1990-1991. As Governor, John motivated clubs to center local as well as international projects around the theme of improving the education and literacy of youth, through the “4 R’s”- Reading, wRiting, aRithmetic, and Rotary.
His wife Patti is a member of the Sebastopol Rotary Club, and has been responsible for bringing children’s education endeavors to clubs in District 5130 through programs such as “Read To Me” and “The Dictionary Project”. The Blounts are major donors and bequest society members of The Rotary Foundation.

Glenn E. Estess, Sr. is the Retired Chief Executive Officer of Glenn Estess Associates, Inc. Born in Pike County, Mississippi; he earned a degree in Chemistry and Physics from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Glenn is one of five brothers who were Rotarians. At one time four were Presidents of their respective clubs.
Glenn is past chairman of trustees of the Baptist Health Systems, an eleven-hospital system headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama with approximately 10,000 employees. He served as director of the Better Business Bureau of Central Alabama and as a trustee for the Workmen's Compensation Trust of the Business Council of Alabama. Earlier in Florida he was chairman of the YMCA, the American Chemical Society and the Arthritis Foundation. He was also a member of the Board of Regents of the National Association of Personnel Consultants in the United States.
A Rotarian since 1960, Glenn was a member first in club #41 at Jacksonville, Florida (USA), and then Wayne, New Jersey (USA). Glenn was an Advisor to the 1997 Rl Convention Committee, PolioPlus National Coordinator in 1987-88. During his tenure as a Trustee, Glenn served as Chairman of the Foundation's Finance Committee and Vice Chairman of its Program Committee. He was Rl's International Assembly Chairman and Moderator in 1999.
He formerly was a member for four years and Chairman for one year of Rl's Audit & Operations Review Committee. This is Rl's only committee having a six-year term. This Committee serves in an Advisory role to the Board of Directors. Glenn was also the Chair of the 2002-2003 Membership Development and Retention Committee.
Glenn is a Rotary Foundation Major Donor, a Paul Harris Fellow, and a Benefactor. He is the recipient of the Citation for Meritorious Service and The Rotary Foundation's Distinguished Service Award.
Glenn and Mary have three children and eight grandchildren. Sixteen members of his family are Paul Harris Fellows.

Cliff Dochterman, Past President Rotary International 1992-93
Cliff Dochterman served as the world President of Rotary International during
1992-1993. His professional career in higher education administration included
20 years at the University of the Pacific (California’s oldest university) and
20 years at the University of California in Berkeley.
Dr. Dochterman is the recipient of the George Washington Honor Medal of the
Freedoms Foundation of Valley Forge for his contributions to the American way of
life. He has been awarded three of the highest honors of the Boy Scouts of
America, the Silver Beaver, Silver Antelope and Distinguished Eagle awards.
Cliff also served as president of the Stockton Chamber of Commerce, and chairman
of the San Joaquin County Parks and Recreation Commission.
For 45 years, Cliff Dochterman has been a leader in Rotary International. He has
served on virtually every committee of Rotary, including Chairman of the
original 3-H Committee; the New Horizons Committee, the Dreams of the Future
Committee, and the Strategic Planning Committee. He is currently serving as the
Chairman of Rotary’s Centennial Operations Committee for observing RI’s 100th
anniversary in 2005.
As the world President of Rotary International, he was honored and decorated by
the heads of state of many nations for his personal contributions to goodwill
and understanding in the world. Rotary International has presented him with its
Distinguished Service Award and the PolioPlus Pioneers Award for his
humanitarian work throughout the world and his early leadership in creating the
PolioPlus program. He is author of the booklet, “The ABC’s of Rotary.”
From 1993 to 1999 he was a Trustee of The Rotary Foundation, and served as
Chairman of The Rotary Foundation during 1997-1998, He was chairman of Rotary’s
2001 Council on Legislation, and is current Chairman of Rotary’s Centennial
Committee. As world president of Rotary International, he created the theme,
“Real Happiness is Helping Others.”
Cliff’s wife Mary Elena is also a Rotarian and Past President of the Rotary Club
of Moraga, California.
